Accounting systems:
- QuickBooks Online - The most popular among small business owners. Different subscription levels to
ensure you are getting the tools and features you need.
- Wave - A free option for small businesses with simple bookkeeping needs.
- FreshBooks* - Good for service-based small businesses. Works best if you also plan to do your
invoicing from within the software (their invoicing feature is great!) Different subscription levels
depending on your needs. (You can try the Premium FreshBooks subscription free for 90 days by clicking here*.)

Payroll:
- Gusto* - Super simple and straightforward option for managing payroll. Gusto takes care of calculating and paying payroll taxes for you too!
Small business banking:
- Novo - An online bank with no monthly fees or minimum balances. Perfect for beginning businesses and those who make and accept payments online.
Receipt management:
If you're using QBO, Wave, or another online software, it likely has a receipt management tool built in. Simple and convenient!
File sharing:
- Google Drive - I use this with many of my clients to securely share sensitive financial info.
Easy to set up a free Gmail account if you do not have one already, and you do not need a
Gmail to receive, view, and edit Google Docs.

Making and receiving payments:
- Melio - Send payment requests and organize your A/P workflow. Free bank transfers and a
2.9% processing fee for credit cards. Different from many other payment processors in that
fees are charged to the person making the payment, not the one receiving it.

Password manager:
- Lastpass - Save user names and passwords for multiple sites. Allows you to generate very strong and different passwords without having to remember them all! Also great for sharing log in information with collaborators without allowing them to see your password.
